Simulation Education Site Specialist

Aurora Health Care is dedicated to improving patient safety and outcomes through evidence-based simulation education. The Simulation Education Site Specialist will support curriculum design, implement simulation-based education, and provide leadership to enhance learning strategies across Advocate Aurora sites.

Responsibilities

Facilitates simulation based curriculum that promotes safety, quality and service
Develops, leads and/or delivers simulation based education based on learning objectives utilizing adult learning principles
Provides site leadership in simulation based learning
Collects data and evaluates the effectiveness of simulation based training
Consults with site team members and utilizes available data to identify educational gaps where simulation would be value added
Provides coaching and feedback to facilitators, instructors and learners as appropriate
Maintains technical expertise for operation and trouble shooting of simulation equipment
Manages internal and external stakeholder relationships
Acts as a member of the Advocate Aurora Academy to develop comprehensive system wide learning strategies, ensuring simulation is represented in our direction and priorities

Required

Master's Degree in Nursing
Master's Degree in Education
Master's Degree in Organizational Development or related field
Typically requires 5 years of experience in a clinical setting
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong computer knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
High attention to detail
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Demonstrated ability to be flexible with changing priorities
Demonstrated problem solving ability
Ability to travel to various Advocate Aurora Health facilities
Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations
Ability to move equipment and learning materials (up to 50lbs)
Exposed to a normal office environment
Position requires travel and exposure to road and weather hazards
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
