Responsibilities
Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases
Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general
Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements
Maintains security and integrity controls
Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization
May develop stored procedures and/or triggers
Primary tasks and duties will include, but are not limited to, the design, development, integration, documentation, maintenance, testing, debugging, and management of multiuser MS Access database applications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience
Extensive knowledge and experience with MS Access, including VBA and SQL
Object-oriented programming concepts
Strong application design principles
MS Excel, including Excel object manipulation from within Access
Database design, programming and functionality
Data management techniques and processes
Determine user needs
Analyze current capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition
Strong communication and customer interface skills
Preferred
Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards
Full knowledge of industry practices
Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks
Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems
May refer to established precedents and policies
Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment
Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives
