Sr Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

Developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms
Guiding them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools
Taking system-level ownership of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle
Ensuring they meet rigorous performance and reliability standards
Collaborating closely with project engineers, external customers, and field-based employees to integrate various technological components into cohesive and effective defense mechanisms
Working alongside our software team to develop and field software for these systems
Ensuring seamless integration and functionality
Collaborating with internal hardware design engineers, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure that all components work together harmoniously
Bridging the gap between software and hardware, and coordinating efforts among different engineering disciplines
Working on a diverse range of projects, including fielded systems, new developmental contracts, and internal research and development initiatives

Required

Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred

Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as Jama, Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB
Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
