CONFIGURATION ANALYST 1

The Configuration Analyst 1 role involves planning and coordinating project documentation, reviewing contracts, and providing technical support for engineering in an office environment to support in-service RCOH, particularly for CVN 75.

Responsibilities

Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met
Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes
Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system
Coordinates modification records for management control
Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor
Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities
Calculates weight and moment data for drawings produced by HII-NNS Aircraft Carrier Engineering (ACE) in support of the upcoming RCOH, in particular CVN 75

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Preferred

Close attention to detail
Ability to follow established procedures and processes, and perform analysis/accounting type work while utilizing MS Excel, 2-D electronic drawings, and multiple database applications
Be able to apply math concepts (particularly geometry, area, volumes, densities, etc.) to determine weight and centers of items and appropriate accounting tags to allow for generating a ship's weight report
