Development Associate
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a leading pediatric healthcare provider that is seeking a Development Associate to provide administrative, strategic, and operational support to fundraising teams. This role involves managing donor records, coordinating events, and assisting in various projects to help meet the goals of the Development department.

Responsibilities
System Management
Develop a strong proficiency in DonorForce, Microsoft 0365, QlikSense, Tableau, SharePoint and Workfront, and act as an educational resource for team members, supporting their effective use of these applications
Serve as a Development team lead in coordination with the Development Technology team to generate and run reports including team activity, gift activity, etc
Monitor database information as it pertains to proper maintenance of prospect and donor records, and run regular proof queries to ensure pertinent data is properly added
Manage records and databases for various Development teams, utilizing databases to perform address and biographical updates, entering notes, and identifying and qualifying prospective donors and friends in coordination with the Prospect Management and Strategy team
Conduct prospect reviews in coordination with the Prospect Management and Strategy team as needed
Assist with tracking moves management
Communicate with donors via phone, email and in person as required
Draft prospect communications as required
Maintain relationships with existing donors and develop relationships with potential donors
Manage and coordinate activities and projects related to the Board of Visitors in coordination with Foundation Board of Visitors Managers
Implement all event specific logistics and components for Development teams and the Board of Visitors meetings as well as other Foundation events as need including but not limited to: site selection, audiovisual, catering, entertainment, speakers, and registration
Research vendors and obtains bids
Secure and recommend volunteer and staff support for events when necessary
Track event attendance, prepare agendas, briefing and event packets
Run donor/event reports and retrieve information in response to supervisor and team requests
Interact with key Hospital donors and prospects at events
Special projects in this role are designed as complex initiatives aimed at advancing the foundation’s strategic goals. These projects may focus on but not limited to building a robust donor pipeline, enhancing operational efficiency, or developing improved tools for the fundraising team. Each project will be tailored to address specific foundation needs and will be selected in alignment with the Development Associate’s interests and skillset. These initiatives will be conducted under the close mentorship and partnership of the Director of Development Associate Program and Strategic Initiatives, providing valuable guidance and support for professional growth and impactful contributions
Provide general assistance, including: answering internal and external phone calls, routing and screening callers, taking messages and providing routine information to callers promptly and courteously, and arranging appointments
Order supplies, fax documents, file and shred documents
Maintain complex calendars and/or schedules of events for leadership as needed
Process director expenses and complex travel requests
Schedule and coordinate meetings for projects by reserving facilities, submitting catering requests, and coordinating travel/lodging arrangements
Assist the Development team in planning and managing major Hospital initiatives, projects and events
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that fosters teamwork with colleagues
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma / GED Required
At least two (2) years of business development, fundraising, administration or related experience Required
Intermediate proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including email & calendar, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic proficiency with data visualization & analytic tools (Tableau, Qliksense)
Familiarity with customer relationship management software (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge)
Strong verbal and written communications skills
