Responsibilities

Assist full-time employees with farm, trail, and landscape maintenance operations including, but are not limited to, mowing, weed eating, backpack blowing, pruning, hand weeding, planting, mulching, trail surfacing and enhancements, brush/leaf pick up, litter removal, storm damage cleanup, farm drainage/water conveyance, landscape and natural resource enhancement projects, and integrative pest management
Work around the general public
Work with city staff and volunteers
All other general maintenance duties as assigned

Required

Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Required to possess a valid Washington driver's license by date of hire
Must have and maintain a good driving record according to City standards
Proof is required at time of interview
Working knowledge of and familiarity with hand-held power tools and other related landscape maintenance equipment
Basic mechanical skills and manual dexterity
Ability to safely operate the equipment and machinery necessary to perform assigned tasks
Ability to listen and understand direction/instruction, communicates with team members, and responds to customers tactfully and courteously
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Preferred

High school diploma or a GED equivalent, preferred with 2-4 months of related maintenance and/or restoration labor experience
Exposure/experience adhering to safety rules and procedures is desirable
Working knowledge of natural areas, trail and/or blueberry farm maintenance standards desirable
