Responsibilities

Repairs, replacement, and maintenance of key aircraft components
Perform the necessary checks related to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft
Testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts
Use a variety of provided tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced
Ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work
Safety and organization are a part of every step

Required

Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
A higher level degree may substitute for experience
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments
Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations
Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
Ability to speak, read and write in English
Skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
Base level knowledge of flightline operational schedules
Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred

Familiarity with Edwards AFB
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
