Responsibilities

Assist Project Engineer/Project Manager to maintain established relationships with Municipal clientele
Provide design and construction observation services on municipal capital improvement projects
Assist with preparing Federal and State regulatory permit applications and plans
Assist with preparing bid plans and specifications
Review subdivision and land development plans for compliance with applicable municipal ordinances
Observe construction activities and document conformance with approved construction drawings/plans, project requirements, standards, and specifications
Promptly report exceptions or deviations from approved plans, specifications, and/or construction issues to project manager, construction contractor supervisor, and/or other appropriate party
Compose letters, memoranda, reports, applications and studies
Prepare prompt and accurate daily field reports summarizing daily field operations/installations, plan deviations, and corrective actions
Communicate on a regular basis with the project manager
Possess the ability to accurately read and understand project plans, details, and specifications and ability to convey the design intent to subcontractors and other field personnel

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related area
Ability to accurately read and understand project plans, details, and specifications and ability to convey the design intent to subcontractors and other field personnel
Travel required
Night and weekend work required
Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard hours, as required
Possess a valid driver's license and own vehicle

Preferred

0-4 years of municipal engineering experience
Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
Certifications in NICET, NECEPT, ACI, Traffic Signal Inspector, etc
40-Hour OSHA Training
Trench/Ladder Training
First Aid Training
