Sr Insurance Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

Establish and work to meet specific liability claim outcome goals for the organization
Monitor trends by area (for evaluation and management of Safety staff) and entire organization
Interact with third party administrator adjusters on an as needed basis
Review claims and analyze information for completeness and accuracy
Maintain contact with injured workers’ supervisors and when necessary injured workers, providing guidance or help when needed
Track all claims with active lost time. Work with locations to ensure return to work on both restricted duty and full duty
Monitor quality of work from Defense Counsel. Maintain relationship with larger firms
Ensure locations are utilizing appropriate Occupational Clinics. Update medical provider lists in states that require panels or allow direction of medical
Work with local locations, the EHS team and Field EHS Managers to establish relationships with medical providers. Schedule and participate as necessary in facility tours for medical providers
Maintain metrics by area and on entire organization to include PPO & pharmacy penetration, reporting lag time
Attend all claim reviews
Occasionally provide training for location management, EHS, and Field EHS Managers on basic WC, General, and Auto/Garage Liability concepts
Provide concurrence on settlements for prolonged open claims when needed
Prepare reports and presentation regarding Safety programs
Keep location managers and corporate managers apprised of issues surrounding liability insurance and safety
Provide subrogation assistance to locations for property damage claims
Make recommendations on improving injury management, safety, and training programs
Provide information by answering questions and requests
Coordinate preparation of reports that are directed to multiple levels within the organization
Effective communication with operational employees, supervisors, local management, upper management and peers
Devise Monthly and Quarterly Reports by Region / Area as needed
Manage internal claim tracking database (Capture and Dashboard)

Required

High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field
Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years' experience
7 years' experience in a related field
