Responsibilities
Creating drawings and plans to meet client requirements and succinctly communicate design ideas using a combination of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and hand illustration
Analyzing complex environmental reports and using the knowledge gained in designs/plans
Providing recommendations on conservation and sustainability issues
Writing proposals based on client needs
Liaising with fellow architects, project managers, engineers, and clients
Qualification
Required
A licensed landscape architect is preferable, but we will consider candidates on a path to becoming licensed to join our team or someone with the experience to navigate all facets of high-level projects
Candidates should have experience managing all aspects of the design process, including client and contractor communication
Ideal candidates will have a combination of project management and communication skills to ensure expectations and timelines are met
You should be comfortable working in the office or on-site
Candidates should be well versed in AutoCAD, the Adobe Suite, and hand illustration
The position requires a combination of creativity to solve problems, practicality to manage project details, and the ability to give and receive feedback gracefully
The position requires heavy client contact and the ability to work on a variety of projects at one time
Familiarity with the municipal approval process for residential and commercial projects is a plus
We are seeking a candidate with strong interpersonal skills who has an understanding of construction and design and enjoys working in a friendly office environment
Minimum of 3 to 5 years, landscape design experience
Proficiency with landscape design software and related office software
The ability to understand written and verbal specifications
The ability to respond well to feedback
General knowledge of permitting and zoning processes
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Desire to grow professionally
Preferred
Degree in Landscape Design/Architecture preferred
Relevant license preferred
Curiosity in adjacent fields, permaculture, horticulture, agriculture, arboriculture
