Responsibilities

Perform engineering and construction administration work for the Stormwater Construction Branch
Manage the bid advertisement, contract award processes, and oversee all aspects of construction contract management for transportation projects and stormwater projects including inspection, testing, code compliance, warranty, and project closeout

Required

Graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architectural field; plus, four years of progressively responsible professional experience in the appropriate engineering or architectural field
Valid driver's license
Valid Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect License
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer

Preferred

Must be highly motivated; possess the skills necessary to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment; organized, and detail oriented as it relates to construction management and documentation and with strong communication skills
At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in construction management for stormwater, major utility, or public works projects
At least four (4) years of experience preparing, procuring, administering, and managing construction and engineering contracts for site or utility construction
Experience with project financial and budgetary planning, tracking, and reporting at the project level
Experience in developing and preparing construction specifications
Experience in the close-out of construction contracts, to include closing permits, and resolution of punch list items
