Benefit Plan Associate (Troy, MI)
BeneSys, Inc. is an expanding Third-Party Administrator seeking a motivated and organized professional with experience in healthcare benefits and pension administration. The role involves assisting in the administration of employee benefit plans, maintaining meeting materials, and ensuring compliance with client-specific procedures.
IT Management
Responsibilities
Assisting the Plan Manager in the administration of various employee benefit plans
Maintaining and preparing materials for meetings, including minute writing
Reviewing and process all correspondence, and invoices
Ensuring that client-specific procedures are routinely practiced and enforced
Assisting in obtaining the data necessary for benefit studies, annual audits, and timely submission of required government filings
Exercising discretion in all matters relating to administration of the benefit plans and management of internal relationships
Reviewing and analysis of monthly financial statements
Interpreting plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other governing documents
Interacting with trustees, plan professionals, contributing employers and participants
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job
Qualification
Required
Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication, problem solving, organizational and grammar skills
Ability to write minutes, communications, notifications, etc
Ability to read and interpret the eligibility rules as outlined in the Summary Plan Description (SPD), user manuals for on-line services, department rules and procedures manual and COBRA Compliance manual
Ability to speak clearly and effectively explain to members, dependents, providers and union officials the month-to-month eligibility for coverage
Must be capable of thoroughly analyzing vendor invoices and all month end reports
Find discrepancies in member's eligibility; make necessary corrections based on department procedures, Plan rules and analysis of member's eligibility
Must be able to multi-task
Must be detail oriented
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job

College education or prior related work experience preferred
