COORDINATOR (COMMUNICATIONS), OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is a leader in emergency management and homeland security. They are seeking a Coordinator (Communications) to support and implement the statewide Tactical Communications program, ensuring communication systems are operational during normal and disaster operations.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Coordinate planning, development, operation and evaluation of the services to support and implement the statewide Tactical Communications program goals and objectives during normal and disaster operations
Complete all assigned tasks to include tactical communications projects, ensuring communication systems used by Cal OES are available for operation at all times
Perform tactical communication emergency response activities as directed
Provide guidance for statewide interoperability planning and coordination activities for all levels of government
Ensure that statewide emergency communications response and recovery resources are properly coordinated
Develop regulation and planning guidance as mandated by state or federal law
Provide on-going tactical communications assistance, support and guidance to other Cal OES Branches and Regions

Required

Valid California Driver's License (CDL)
Background Investigation clearance prior to being hired
Experience working in emergency communications, public safety, government, military or other as it relates to field or response
Experience with radio systems, emergency call-taking systems, or other telecommunications technology

Versatile, cross-functional professional with a strong ability to adapt, troubleshoot, and deliver practical solutions across multiple domains
