CONSULTANT IN TEACHER PREPARATION/PROGRAM EVALUATION AND RESEARCH
Caltrans District 3 is part of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, which serves as a state standards board for educator preparation. The Consultant will be responsible for implementing accreditation systems for educator preparation programs and developing policies related to educator licensing.

Responsibilities
Accreditation Unit Work – With a focus on Administrative Services credential standards, the consultant will be responsible for assistance in the implementation of the accreditation system for institutions of higher education and local education agencies offering educator preparation programs. This includes acting as point of contact for current and prospective Administrative Services credential program sponsors; liaising with CTC’s Administrator Performance Assessment consultant(s); document review processes; the site visit process, including presentation to the Committee on Accreditation; and/or other accreditation–related responsibilities as assigned
Policy Development and Other Policy-Related Work – Responsible for research, development and/or updating of Commission policies and standards relating to educator preparation or assisting in the development and updating of these policies and standards, as assigned, especially as they relate to Administrative Services credential programs. This work may include consultative and analytical duties in researching and developing policies relating to current issues in educator licensing, convening and coordinating the work of advisory panels, and preparation and presentation of agenda items for Commission action. If new policies and/or standards are adopted, the consultant is responsible for implementing and/or assisting in implementing related activities consistent with the new policies and standards

Required
Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired
Must have list, transfer, or reinstatement eligibility and be reachable on the certification list
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov

Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s)
Preferred
Background and/or experience in accreditation, particularly Administrative Services credential programs and preparation
