Responsibilities

Responsible for running and interpreting experiments using 2D and 3D neuron models derived from human stem cells. This highly specialized, technically demanding approach requires an intimate understanding of human stem cell culture methods and microscopy techniques for data analysis
Independently conduct publication driven research. Co-author publications and may co-present results with Principal Investigator at meetings and/or conferences
Work in a specialized area of research
May act as liaison with other departments, divisions or organizations, including spearheading new DEI initiatives in the lab
Develop, design, and conduct one or more large complex research experiments in line with plan, review progress and evaluate results. Consult with users to refine or adapt methodologies to fit specific experiment requirements and collaborate in the development of new techniques
Formulate research methods and suggest options for improving quality, identify potential problems, recommend, and implement solutions. Coordinate data collection and screening and verify the data. Conduct analysis of data, interpret, and implement research methodology based on outcome of analysis
Train users in equipment operation and laboratory techniques, explain and demonstrate technology and equipment capabilities, operations, limitations and outcomes. May supervise exempt and non-exempt research and support personnel

Required

PhD in Biological Sciences or related discipline
5 years' experience with human stem cell methods
Previous supervisory experience
Previous experience with research method development
Previous experience with clinical data management
Previous experience with procuring lab reagents and equipment
Previous experience with confidential information management
Previous experience with financial management
