Perform electrical and electronic installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on equipment related to traffic signals and other State electrical facilities

Perform equipment repairs for other Districts within Caltrans, performing benchwork repairs down to electronic circuits component levels

May also be used for various field and support functions

Required

Class C driver's license

Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Electronics Specialist (Repair Laborator) exam

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment

Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent

Methods, materials and equipment used in minor electrical construction and repair

Electronics as applied to control and measuring devices

Electrical Safety Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety and of the safety precautions required in the installation and repair of traffic control and other electrical and electronic devices
