Machining Operations Intern

Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA. The Operations division is looking to fill a student Co-Op position within the Machining Operations group, where the intern will participate in all aspects of the production process of machined hardware while ensuring compliance with AS9100D requirements.

Responsibilities

Create & maintain production jobs in Epicor ERP & FactoryLogix MES systems
Communicate with customers
Work with external vendors on out-sourcing needs
Develop documentation for both ERP & MES Systems
Manage materials and stockroom quantities with real time accuracy
Work diligently in a cross-functional team environment
Adhere to all shop safety rules

Required

Enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and very strong organizational skills
Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to adapt and adjust to rapidly changing priorities, tight deadlines, and unique program requirements
Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Co-op students must be US citizens and able to work full-time for a 6-month period

Preferred

Familiarity with Machine Shop processes and equipment is a plus
