Payroll Specialist - $28.85 - $33.65 per hour
7Seventy Recruiting is seeking a Payroll Specialist responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with payroll tax requirements. The role involves accurate payroll tax calculations, filings, and addressing payroll-related inquiries while supporting year-end processes.
Information Services
Responsibilities
Respond to inquiries from employers and government agencies regarding payroll tax matters
Assist with registering new state, local, and unemployment tax accounts as needed
Calculate, process, and reconcile federal, state, and local payroll taxes
Maintain accurate payroll tax records and supporting documentation
Prepare and file monthly and quarterly payroll tax returns in a timely manner
Support year-end processes, including tax form issuance and annual reconciliation
Stay current on payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support accurate payroll processing
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Experience: 3–5 years of payroll processing and payroll tax compliance experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Preferred: Experience with payroll and tax reporting systems
Experience with iSolved and MasterTax is a plus
