Responsibilities
Establish and oversee the firm’s Electrical Engineering practice
Develop the strategic vision and growth plan for the Electrical Engineering discipline
Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of electrical engineers and designers
Foster a collaborative culture that integrates electrical engineering with existing disciplines
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards, including safety and sustainability requirements
Review electrical engineering plans, specifications, and reports to ensure technical accuracy and quality
Engage with clients to define project requirements and deliver effective solutions
Maintain strong client relationships and oversee budgets, schedules, and quality control for electrical engineering projects
Identify opportunities to expand electrical engineering services, including new projects and partnerships
Represent the firm at industry events, building relationships with clients, agencies, and partners
Support proposal and presentation preparation to secure new business and grow the firm’s electrical engineering portfolio
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
Expertise in electrical systems for civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including roadway lighting, traffic signals, power systems, renewable energy, and smart infrastructure
Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, AGi 32, or other relevant lighting design software
Knowledge of National Electrical Code, Massachusetts Electrical Code, and ANSI/IES standards
Excellent communication, team-building, and critical thinking skills
Experience directly supervising multiple staff
Preferred
Master's Degree
Massachusetts P.E. license
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a civil engineering environment
Familiarity with emerging technologies like IoT, EV charging infrastructure, and energy storage systems
