Bali Construction, Inc is a licensed general engineering contractor serving national and regional customers throughout Southern California. They are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead and manage high-profile construction projects, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and execution.

Responsibilities

Review and become familiar with the project documents, including contracts, plans, and specifications

Identify potential conflicts in the documents, generate requests for information, propose solutions, identify if the RFI disposition will result in a change to cost or schedule, and report to the Project Manager

Maintain and update project RFI log

Prepare and transmit submittal packages

Maintain and update project submittal log

Resolve submittal review comments to obtain approval

Determine quantities

Identify changes in quantities resulting from events, including but not limited to client directives, owner directives, and design plan progression, and review and approve agency design plan comments and conditions for approval

Notify the Client of the Change(s), obtain written acknowledgment of the Change (s), obtain written authorization to proceed with extra work and interface with the Bali accounting team to track labor hours and costs associated with additional work in TRACK

In coordination with Bali's purchasing manager, obtain vendor shop drawings and review them to ensure conformance with the project requirements

In coordination with Bali's Purchasing Manager, identify and research alternate or substitute materials that meet project requirements to obtain the best value or mitigate availability constraints

Obtain requisite permits for the project scope of work

Visit project sites and attend project meetings

Identify field conditions that pose risks to estimated productivity

Convey risks and job site issues identified to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foremen as necessary

Actively participate in Bali's Safety Culture

In coordination with Bali's Safety Director and the project team, prepare job hazard analysis for each activity

Actively participate in Bali's impact notification procedure as necessary

Review field-generated time & material extra work tickets for completeness and address shortfalls identified

Assist field personnel in navigating administrative duties using mobile platforms not limited to project-specific document control software and TRACK

Confirm that labor hours have been appropriately cost-coded in TRACK, move hours to appropriate codes as necessary, and update associated quantities

Assist in resolving identified conflicts as necessary

Collect and record field data to support production rate review and analysis

Prepare project—or task-specific plans, including, but not limited to, sewer spill prevention plans, sewer bypass plans, shut-down or tie-in plans, and hoisting or lift plans

Attend Operations Meeting

Participate in and contribute to project cost to complete analyses and quarterly estimates

Participate in joint Estimating and Operating project turnover meetings

Participate in Bali's inter-departmental project kick-off meeting

Participate in Change order negotiation meetings with Clients

Participate in Corporate annual and quarterly meetings

Price time & material extra work tickets as necessary
