Responsibilities

Support the Maritime/Land Sensors and Systems (MLSS) Division as an Operating Unit (OU) Contracts Manager for the Columbia-class Integrated Power Systems OU

Report to the Marine Systems Business Unit Director of Contracts, Pricing, and Government Property

Work closely on a day-to-day basis with the OU Program Managers/Directors, Business Managers, Operations Managers, Engineering Managers, and functional teams throughout the OU

Be responsible for all aspects of the OU contracts’ portfolio delivering successful financial performance, risk mitigation, change management, and customer satisfaction

Be responsible for the direct supervision, management, and success of a team of 4 - 6 contracts professionals

Lead their team in conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities

Provide objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines, general policies, and maintain a strong level of engagement

Dynamically leading, inspiring, motivating and developing a team of contract professionals

Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Demonstrate broad spectrum of skills - from attention to detail, to assessing macro-level impacts

Demonstrate experience using proactive and forward-looking approaches to solve complex problems

Plan and execute successful contract negotiations and achieve targeted profit rates as well as favorable terms and conditions

Lead a team and need experience with succession planning, professional development, and performance management

Demonstrate experience successfully recruiting, training, and retaining employees at all skill levels

Required

Bachelor's degree with 8 years of industry related experience in contract administration/management – OR – a Master's degree with 6 years of industry related experience as outlined above

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a formal people leadership role

Minimum of 3 years of experience planning and executing successful government contract negotiations

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of pricing principles and FAR/DFARS as well as associated Federal Contracting regulations

Must be willing to travel domestically up to 25% of the time

US Citizenship is required

The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required
