Required

This position is open to Alaska Residents only
Six months of entry technical level experience in human resource work equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere
Graduation from high school or the equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience
One year of postsecondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours from an accredited college or university equals one year) in any field
High school graduation 'equivalent' means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D (i.e. passing the General Educational Development test); 2) completion of any basic adult education course of 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 hours per week); 3) six months of work experience performing duties related to office or clerical support; 4) twelve months of work experience involving some routine tasks related to office or clerical support; 5) highest grade of school completed plus any kind of work experience that totals 12 years or more; or 6) acceptance for admission in full standing by an accredited college or university
Human resource work includes experience in recruitment and selection, classification, employee training, employer provided benefits programs, employment law compliance, personnel, payroll, or employee or labor relations
Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work
Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
Interpersonal Skills: Treats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect. Considers and responds appropriately to the needs and feelings of different people in different situations
Reading Comprehension: Understands and interprets written material, including technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations
Self-Management: Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior
