Responsibilities
Manufacture precision optics and optical components
Read and interpret optical component drawings/specs including GD&T
Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data
Independently set up and operate polishing equipment, lathes, flycutters, and other manual/CNC machines
Perform bi-weekly maintenance on polishing machines
Use advanced testing equipment such as interferometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering and technicians
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualification
Required
Manufacture precision optics and optical components
Read and interpret optical component drawings/specs including GD&T
Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data
Independently set up and operate polishing equipment, lathes, flycutters, and other manual/CNC machines
Perform bi-weekly maintenance on polishing machines

Job requires standing 80-90%, walking 10-20%, bending 20%, lifting < 15 lbs
Disassembling/reassembling components, diagnosing issues
Strong geometry and trigonometry skills
Ability to work any shift, including compressed schedules
Multi-tasking skills to run multiple machines in a cell
Dexterity to handle delicate optical components
Optical Polishing: Polishing and finishing optical components
Optical Manufacturing (Cutting): Cutting and machining optical components
Optical Polishing: Mechanical hands-on repair and maintenance
Optical Manufacturing (Cutting): CNC programming and cutting tool knowledge
Preferred
Two-year technical degree preferred
Experience with surface quality standards and inspection
Machine maintenance experience
Optical metrology experience
Optical Polishing: Optical metrology and machine maintenance
Optical Manufacturing (Cutting): Freeform cutting, G-Code programming, Calypso/DIFFSYS experience
