Senior Boiler/Chiller Specialist

Indiana Wesleyan University Nursing is seeking a Senior Boiler/Chiller Specialist to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, particularly boilers and chillers. The role involves diagnosing issues, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while collaborating with team members and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

Perform/supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of boiler and chillers systems and other HVAC equipment as required
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with boiler and chiller systems, identifying and implementing effective solutions
Perform repairs and replacements of components as needed, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance schedules, service reports, and parts inventory
Collaborate/train with other team members to coordinate and prioritize service requests
Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electro/mechanical systems and equipment for commercial chillers and boilers
Troubleshoot complex HVAC and emergency equipment, such as motors, fan coils, VAVs, heat exchangers, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps
Providing technical guidance and collaboration with other technicians
Installing, testing and commissioning new equipment
Performing safety inspections of relevant equipment
Monitoring and maintaining water chemistry for boilers
Completing preventative and corrective maintenance tasks with detailed documentation in a CMMS
Adhering to code requirements and safety regulations, including OSHA standards
Participating in emergency on-call rotations
Staying updated on industry trends
Developing client relationships

Required

High School Diploma or GED
EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (mandatory for refrigerant handling)
Boiler Operator Permit or Inspector License (as required by Indiana DHS)
Three or more (3+) years of experience in HVAC-R or boiler/chiller maintenance
Strong knowledge of boiler and chiller systems, including installations, maintenance, and repair
Familiarity with NBIC standards and local building codes
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred

Experience with Trane, Carrier, York, or similar systems
Knowledge of energy-efficient upgrades and controls
NATE Certification or manufacturer-specific training
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
