Rotor Lead Engineer - Design Liaison Engineering

Responsibilities

Deliver high quality solutions to address deviant hardware and design support for CAs to help reduce or prevent repeat incidents
Conceive innovative ideas to solve rotor manufacturing and design problems
Leverage hand calculations, CAD, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for analysis supporting dispositions to deviant hardware, redesign efforts, and drawing revisions to support improved manufacturability
Execute GT rotor qualifications with appropriate technical rigor to ensure our qualified Global Supply Chain can consistently manufacture parts that are conforming to engineering definition
Conduct technical reviews for design tasks with Controlled Title Holders (CTHs). Evaluate and mitigate component, assembly, and/or system level risks
Build and execute standard work, QMS standards, and design templates for common issues encountered for specific components/assemblies. Identify creative ways to improve and create our processes, design methods, and manufacturing methods
Maintain strong relationships with supply chain teams. Keep abreast of new NTI, NPI, and emerging fleet services issues
Drive technical rigor and integrity in all aspects of design and post-design work
Collaborate with cross functional teams including Global Supply Chain, external suppliers, Quality, GTE NPI Design, MPE, PDE, Controlled Title Holders, Systems, Performance, Repair, Heat Transfer, etc

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college and at least 4 years of relevant experience
Ability to handle US-export controlled information

Preferred

Relevant experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery
Proficient with Ansys, NX, and other analytical tools
Experience in programming with Python, VBA, and/or other languages
Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings & BoMs
Strong organizational & communication skills
Demonstrated capability in collaborating in a cross functional global organization
Humble, open-minded, self-motivated, and a continuous learner
Ability to rapidly shift day to day priorities based on emerging business needs
