Responsibilities
Own and develop set of features available through the service
Guide junior software engineers in the team
Solve difficult problems in distributed systems, infrastructure, and highly available services
Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Business Partners, and the Operations Engineering organization to deliver a highly available product to our customers
Qualification
Required
4+ years of software engineering or related experience
Built and operated cloud services
Strong development experience with an Object Oriented Language
Demonstrate strong ownership
Solid communication skills
Bias for action
Comfortable leading features and guiding other engineers
3+ years distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment
Proficient in Java and familiarity in at least one of the following languages: Python, C++, C# or Golang
Experience developing service-oriented architectures and web services security solutions
Experience building scalable, cloud native distributed systems
Experience working with other cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, search, store)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
Comfortably in a collaborative, agile development environment
Preferred
Understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, specifically within a cloud environment
Familiarity and understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms
Understanding of cross-functional platform feature areas in cloud platforms

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
