Engineering Data Scientist
Boeing is a leading aerospace company dedicated to innovation and collaboration. They are seeking an Experienced/Lead Engineering Data Scientist to join their Global Services team, where the role involves developing advanced machine learning models to enhance aircraft performance and support military customers.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of advanced machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex problems as aftermarket services for military customers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define data requirements, data collection methods, and data quality standards
Conduct data analysis and exploration to identify patterns, trends, and insights that drive decision-making and improve aircraft health management
Apply advanced statistical techniques and predictive modeling to develop predictive maintenance strategies and optimize aircraft performance
Utilize natural language processing, data cleansing, and preprocessing techniques to ensure data quality and integrity for accurate analysis and modeling
Evaluate and apply modern RAG techniques to generate domain-specific insights from complex customer data, enhancing decision-making and user experience
Implement and deploy machine learning models into production systems, working closely with software engineering teams to integrate into customer environments
Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand engineering domain knowledge and incorporate it into data analysis and modeling efforts
Continuously evaluate and improve existing models and algorithms to enhance their accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations and policies throughout the data analysis lifecycle
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and aerospace technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise reports, presentations, and visualizations
Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices and standards for data science within the organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or similar discipline
5+ years of professional experience in data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
5+ years of experience in Python for data science applications
Experience leading technical teams or projects
Ability to obtain a SECRET US Security Clearance Post-Start for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
Complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process
Preferred
Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another similar technical background
10+ years of professional experience in data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
3+ years of experience in natural language processing
3+ years of experience in SQL
Proficient with data visualization tools, such as Tableau
Proficient in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
Experience with generative AI models, including LLMs and RAG, for building knowledge-driven solutions
Engineering domain knowledge relating to aircraft maintenance, design, or testing
Experience integrating models into customer environments, both on-prem and in cloud environments
Experience working in an agile software development team
