Responsibilities
Providing service, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting/diagnostics on access control equipment and IP-based video systems including electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems, and intercom systems
Driving to commercial client sites with a company-issued vehicle to perform service, repair, troubleshoot, and detect access control equipment and IP-based video security systems
Troubleshooting system installations in such a manner as to identify issues and apply the most effective and efficient resolution consistent with company installation standards; identify and repair physical security systems as required to ensure operability and compliance with any applicable building code
Applying all necessary documentation for tracking of service-related issues
Demonstrating knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools, analog and digital test equipment and CCTV testing devices
Demonstrating proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, CAD drawings and related documents for their use in low-voltage applications
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
Providing phone and on-line remote diagnostic support
Performing other duties as assigned by Operations Management
Qualification
Required
2-3 years experience servicing a variety of commercial electronic security systems: access control, video management, intrusion detection, and fire systems/alarms
Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis to respond to emergency service calls
Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical and electronic aptitude
Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and work on ladder heights of up to 16'
Valid State Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required
High School Degree, Vocational School or equivalent is required
Positive customer service
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customers
Be able to work independently or as a member of a team
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-based environment with minimum direction
Understanding of Windows operating systems and overall IT network topology
Highly proactive and skilled individual, and at all times maintain performance consistent with their core values
