Responsibilities
Ensure that information systems and computer networks are secure
Protect the company against hackers and cyber-attacks
Monitor network traffic and server logs for unusual activity
Find vulnerabilities in computer networks and create recommendations to minimize them
Investigate security breaches and develop strategies for security issues
Utilize firewalls and antivirus software to maintain security
Install, administer, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues for security tools
Update software with the latest security patches
Develop and update network security
Evaluate and review existing DSHS Cybersecurity tools and controls to determine gaps, provide recommendations, and implement risk reduction plans
Design, prepare, and present supporting documentation such as project plans, status reports, briefings and presentations, and internal/external stakeholder communication materials
Use research, interviews, meetings, and workshops to understand the DSHS organization’s strategic objectives, processes, issues, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
Interact extensively with DSHS internal or external stakeholders to identify, analyze, and resolve complex problems or security gaps
Perform editing on DSHS documentation to include checks for format, clarity, and overall cohesiveness
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature for the DSHS organization
Provide DSHS progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required
Qualification
Required
Experience in network security analysis and ensuring information systems and computer networks are secure
Ability to protect the company against hackers and cyber-attacks
Experience in monitoring network traffic and server logs for unusual activity
Skills in finding vulnerabilities in computer networks and creating recommendations to minimize these vulnerabilities
Experience investigating security breaches and developing strategies for security issues
Knowledge of utilizing firewalls and antivirus software to maintain security
Experience in installation, administration, and troubleshooting software and hardware issues for security tools
Ability to update software with the latest security patches
Experience in developing and updating network security
Skills in evaluating and reviewing existing cybersecurity tools and controls to determine gaps
Ability to provide recommendations and implement risk reduction plans
Experience in designing, preparing, and presenting supporting documentation such as project plans, status reports, briefings, and presentations
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex problems or security gaps
Skills in editing documentation for format, clarity, and cohesiveness
Ability to manage updates and revisions to technical literature
Experience in providing progress reporting documents and briefing materials
