Senior LevelShopint is building a decision intelligence platform that transforms large volumes of public customer feedback into clear insights. They are seeking a Founding Backend & AI Pipeline Engineer to take ownership of backend systems and AI data pipelines, focusing on building reliable and scalable infrastructure for their platform.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and own backend infrastructure and AI data pipelines
Develop multi-tenant, production-grade APIs
Build data ingestion, processing, and transformation pipelines for AI workloads
Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and model-serving components into backend systems
Implement enterprise foundations: auth, billing, usage tracking
Ensure security, reliability, and scalability as data and customers grow
Make architectural decisions supporting long-term AI system evolution
Qualification
Required
Strong Python backend experience (FastAPI)
Proven experience building AI / ML data pipelines in production
Experience with LLM pipelines (prompting, embeddings, vector search, evaluation)
Strong async Python knowledge (async/await, asyncio)
Solid PostgreSQL experience (schema design, migrations, complex queries)
Experience designing secure REST APIs
Security-first mindset (multi-tenant isolation, input validation, SQL injection prevention)
Experience running and scaling real production systems
Preferred
Vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)
Background jobs & workflows (Celery, Temporal, Airflow)
Redis, caching, rate limiting
Stripe or SaaS billing integrations
AWS experience (ECS, RDS, S3)
Prior AI-first or B2B SaaS startup experience
