Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert on crewing, working independently with minimal supervision
Ensure vessels are staffed with qualified, physically fit, and capable mariners for all required positions
Verify validity and currency of crew documents, credentials, training, medical clearances, and drug-free requirements
Coordinate crew travel to and from vessels in a cost-effective manner
Interpret and apply multiple union contracts, customer requirements, and regulatory standards
Prepare and maintain accurate personnel records in coordination with other company departments
Identify and address discrepancies or expirations in personnel qualifications
Assist in identifying training needs and developing training plans
Support crew development initiatives and succession planning strategies
Forecast crew rotations based on mariner skill level, training, availability, and security clearance requirements
Provide high-quality customer service and direct communication regarding mariner assignments
Collaborate with union hiring halls to dispatch mariners and assist in grievance resolution processes
Contribute to the standardization and streamlining of departmental processes and training programs
Generate reports on manpower, work utilization, and assignments as required
Participate in unemployment hearings when necessary

Required

High School or GED
1 to 3 years of experience in marine crewing operations or Associate/Bachelor's degree
Ability to multi-task
Ability to solve problems
Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbally
Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving, and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives
Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope
Must be available/on-call after hours for emergency crew requests
May require travel to multiple locations
