The role involves preparing detailed drawings and layouts for various bridge structures using CAD software, and working independently with direction from supervisors and engineers.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed drawings, layouts and sketches for conventional concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls and miscellaneous structures using computer-aided design software
Develop details for complex concrete and steel bridges which may include: prestressed concrete, post tensioned concrete, steel plate girder, truss systems, segmental and cable-stayed
Typical projects will be for highway, transit, and railway projects
Work independently with direction from supervisor and engineers

Required

Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience
A minimum of 5 years related industry experience
Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool
Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential

Preferred

Associate's degree in Engineering Technology
Experience in structures drafting or related projects
Experience working with BIM and 3D CAD software platforms
Experience interpreting as-built plans for existing structures
Ability to use Excel to calculate quantities for cost estimating purposes
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members
Preference given to local candidates
