Technology Research & Innovation Engineer

The Technology Research & Innovation Engineer will conduct ongoing industry research, evaluate emerging technologies, and collaborate with teams to support technology adoption and integration within the organization.

Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing industry research and market scanning to identify emerging physical security and related enterprise technologies
Identify, evaluate, and analyze technologies for functionality, maturity, scalability, integration potential, and alignment with enterprise security objectives
Collaborate with lab team, working on-site every other week, to support hands-on exploration, testing, and validation of technologies
Engage with technology vendors to: coordinate and participate in demonstrations, review solution capabilities and product roadmaps, assess vendor offerings against defined use cases
Support internal integration discussions and adoption planning, including feasibility considerations and implementation impacts
Develop clear documentation and reporting, including: technology evaluations, comparative analyses, written summaries and recommendations
Present findings in person and in writing to a range of stakeholders including senior leadership and executive audiences
Participate in strategic innovation initiatives, pilots, and proof-of-concept efforts
Support internal knowledge sharing through presentations, briefings, and documentation
Attend and support industry events and trade shows to stay current on technology trends
Other related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Security, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: security technology, systems engineering, technology research, evaluation, or innovation roles
Demonstrated experience: Researching and evaluating technology solutions and comparing vendors, platforms, or tools
Presenting findings to technical and executive audiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
Willingness and ability to travel: Regularly to Merrimack, NH (every other week cadence) and periodically to industry events and trade shows
Experience working within large, complex, or regulated enterprise environments
Ability to pass required background checks and integrity interviews
