Responsibilities
Implementing User Defined Networks (UDN) to support overlapping RFC1918 IP space across multiple sites while maintaining cryptographic or logical isolation
Configuring the FRR-K8s Operator to dynamically advertise UDN-specific routes to the physical Leaf/Spine fabric, specifically handling multi-hop BGP or complex prefix-filtering
Tuning the CNI for high-performance edge workloads (e.g., SR-IOV or DPDK integration within a UDN)
Optimizing the KubeVirt/OpenShift Virtualization layer to host 'Guest' OpenShift clusters with minimal latency overhead
Ensuring that the networking in the nested cluster can communicate efficiently with the physical network without triple-encapsulation penalties
Configuring Dell PowerFlex CSI to provide persistent volumes through the virtualization layer to the nested K8s nodes while maintaining snapshot capabilities
Qualification
Required
Highly skilled and deeply experienced with advanced SDN & Tenant Isolation (UDN/cUDN)
Experience with Layer 3 Segmentation via OVN-Kubernetes
Ability to implement User Defined Networks (UDN) to support overlapping RFC1918 IP space across multiple sites while maintaining cryptographic or logical isolation
Experience with BGP Dynamic Routing via FRR-K8s
Ability to configure the FRR-K8s Operator to dynamically advertise UDN-specific routes to the physical Leaf/Spine fabric
Experience handling multi-hop BGP or complex prefix-filtering
Experience with Hardware Offloading and tuning the CNI for high-performance edge workloads (e.g., SR-IOV or DPDK integration within a UDN)
Experience with Nested OCP Environments (OCP on VMaaS)
Ability to optimize the KubeVirt/OpenShift Virtualization layer to host 'Guest' OpenShift clusters with minimal latency overhead
Ability to solve the 'Double Overlay' problem ensuring efficient communication in nested clusters
Experience configuring Dell PowerFlex CSI to provide persistent volumes through the virtualization layer to the nested K8s nodes while maintaining snapshot capabilities
Ability to provide advanced guidance and resolve complex issues independently
Ability to contribute at a senior level without needing significant oversight
