The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, producing accurate financial statements, and collaborating with leadership on strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Oversee key aspects of the accounting function, such as general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable

Oversee preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory (SAP) financial statements

Ensure timely filing of all regulatory reports (e.g. NAIC, state insurance departments, and other statutory filings)

Collaborate with the CFO and Company leadership on strategy and departmental goals

Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies and procedures

Monitor changes in insurance, tax, and statutory accounting standards

Works with Company's external auditors and actuary

Forward thinking analysis and special projects

Support the CFO and Legal/Compliance teams in strategic areas, such as new state licensing, corporate structure, and statutory reporting, as needed
