Responsibilities

Serves as a team lead in providing technical and theoretical database support for COTS (Commercial off the shelf) and custom applications: Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
Work with business partners, developers, data analysts, & security analysts
Creating and maintaining database standards and policies in accordance with technology and security standards
Supporting database design, creation, and testing, backup, archiving, and storage activities
Managing the database availability and performance, including incident and problem management
Define and implementing event triggers that will alert on potential database performance or integrity issues
Monitoring usage, transactions, response times, concurrency levels and Performing database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc
Evaluates new and future data technologies and releases and analyzes and tests new releases/versions of software in order to determine a rollout schedule, technical compatibility and integration issues

Required

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
Bachelor's degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer-related courses, or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
Experienced professional with preferably more than 7 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration

Preferred

Demonstrated experience managing multiple Oracle and SQL Server databases
Demonstrated experience in serving as a Technical Lead in support of projects
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Linux operating systems
General knowledge of Cyber Security design requirements
