Responsibilities
Managing daily purchasing activities by building a productive team
Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs
Working to improve purchasing systems and processes
Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system
Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
Increase inventory turns
Qualification
Required
Proven success as a purchasing manager or applicable experience
Supervisory and management experience
Strong planning and organizational skills
Working knowledge of MS Office and Sage Accounting software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong analytical mindset
Preferred
BS/BA in business administration or relevant field – a plus, but not required
