The Newsroom Support Producer will contribute to the news team by managing news desk duties, producing local public affairs programming, and maintaining digital news platforms.

Responsibilities

Monitor for any local K-LOVE market news that might warrant the creation and delivery of a Local News Breakaway. This would involve researching, verifying, writing and voicing updates. Alert News team leadership if a national crisis develops

As assigned, collect, edit, and produce interviews or News features for on-air use or to post as podcasts on websites and social media

Proactively manage portions of news web pages on K-LOVE digital platforms

Research and maintain awareness of breaking news stories, post stories on websites. Ensure pages are updated and relevant

Maintain the database of local Public Affairs programming and coordinate the scheduling of segments with the Public Affairs and Traffic teams

Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet ministry core values

Maintain effective working internal team relationships and with external support departments

Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Minimum of 1-2 years related experience in the Broadcast Media

Demonstrated successful project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, database management, and scheduling software

Proficient with studio software applications including ProTools, Soundforge, TLC, Spot Depot, FTP

Proficient with all newsroom type broadcast equipment

Demonstrate acute attention to detail

A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for our mission and values

Bachelor's degree, or combination of education/training with relevant experience
