Network Planning Engineering - Contractor - L2
LanceSoft, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Network Planning Engineer supporting the FAA/FTI program. This role involves evaluating, planning, and implementing modern telecommunications network designs tailored to FAA mission-critical needs, including replacing legacy systems with advanced technologies and managing design workflows for high-impact projects.

Responsibilities
Assess telecommunications technologies and design solutions to ensure alignment with the FAA/FTI network’s critical infrastructure and service requirements
Architect and engineer next-generation telco services to replace legacy copper-based solutions with modern, scalable alternatives
Deliver tailored network implementations that meet dynamic customer requirements and long-term strategic objectives
Establish and apply best practices in network design, capacity planning, and service continuity to support mission-critical operations
Oversee the telco design release lifecycle to ensure timely execution and alignment with program milestones
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent of a 4-year accredited degree in a technical discipline
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associate's degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks experience
ABILITY to obtain FAA Public Trust
Preferred
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to design, implement and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures
Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes
Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv
