They are seeking a Legal Counsel who will provide legal support across multiple business functions with a primary focus on technology, data, privacy, and compliance, while managing legal risk and advising on various legal matters.

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and support to business units on technology, data, privacy, and compliance matters
Serve as the primary legal resource for technology governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives
Partner with finance, operations, and technology teams to oversee PCI compliance programs, including training and monitoring activities
Monitor, research, and analyze applicable U.S. laws, regulations, and standards to ensure ongoing compliance
Review, draft, and negotiate internal and third-party technology-related agreements, balancing legal risk with business objectives
Collaborate with business teams to develop legal strategies and support informed executive decision-making
Work cross-functionally to support business projects and initiatives
Translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders
Perform additional legal duties and special projects as assigned

Required

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar and eligibility to register as in-house counsel in California
4-7 years of legal practice experience, including a minimum of 18 months of in-house corporate legal experience
Prior experience supporting governance, risk management, and compliance matters
Experience reviewing and drafting technology-related contracts
Strong legal research and writing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred

Certifications such as PCIP, CIPP/US, or similar credentials preferred
