The role involves ensuring database performance, security, and reliability, while administering SQL Server and SQL Cluster environments and related technologies.

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and maintain SQL Server and SQL Cluster databases
Perform performance tuning, replication, and backup/recovery operations
Troubleshoot daily SQL Server issues and coordinate fixes with GPO application teams
Develop, deploy, and optimize T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, and data models
Support Requests for Change (RFC) and FootPrints tickets related to GBIS and other business systems
Perform after-hours maintenance (patching, upgrades, server reboots) as required
Deliver weekly support reports summarizing system health, incidents, and completed tasks

Required

Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience administering and maintaining SQL Server databases in enterprise environments
Strong knowledge of SQL Server Cluster, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and MS Access
Experience with troubleshooting, performance optimization, and high availability setups
Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with technical teams and end-users
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Equivalent experience (10+ years) may substitute for degree
U.S Citizen

Preferred

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)
Microsoft SQL Server Certification (2016 or later)
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (for compliance with federal IT standards)
