This role involves establishing database standards, optimizing performance, and collaborating with software data engineers to ensure a scalable and maintainable system.

Responsibilities
Establish and enforce database design standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability across the platform
Lead database related aspects of the development in Guidewire platform, ensuring high availability, low latency and scalability
Identify and resolve database performance issues, ensuring the platform can handle millions of users
Work closely with software data engineers to ensure database standards are adhered to during development and migration
Design and implement 3NF normalization models and dimensional models
Work with cloud-based databases such as Aurora PostgreSQL and analytical platforms like Snowflake
Provide hands-on support during production outages, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system stability
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in database architecture, modeling, and administration
Successfully led 3+ large-scale database projects, covering the key responsibilities outlined above
Extensive experience with 3NF normalization dozens of projects and dimensional modeling (2+ projects)
Hands-on experience with operational databases like Aurora PostgreSQL and analytical databases like Snowflake
Proven track record of working with large engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of relational databases, cloud-based databases, and data modeling concepts
Familiarity with ETL development and data integration processes
Experience working with modeling tools like Erwin
Experience working with database monitoring tools like Datadog
Preferred
Experience with Saas platforms like Guidewire platform is a plus
