Responsibilities

Design mechanical systems including HVAC -heating, cooling, heat rejection, plumbing - air and water distribution, ventilation, ductwork, sprinklers, boilers, furnaces, air conditioning, building automation and controls

Perform system design calculations, load calculations and energy modeling

Selection of equipment for use in building systems for healthcare, hospital, laboratories, and pharmaceutical projects

Prepare mechanical construction documents detailing the designed systems

Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects

Ensure design is consistent with the overall vision and design schedules are maintained

Attend meetings and communicate effectively with clients to establish their needs and discuss design

Required

7 – 10 years of professional experience in designing HVAC Systems for healthcare, hospitals, laboratories and pharmaceutical projects with AE or MEP consulting firms

Must have a strong project list - Life Sciences, Science & Technology, Healthcare, Hospitals and Laboratories

Strong AutoCAD capabilities. Revit a plus

Strong understanding of ASHRAE and international Building Codes

Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet strict deadlines

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
