Responsibilities
Produce wall, floor, and roof truss placement plans and detailed truss design drawings using MiTek software
Interpret residential blueprints and determine appropriate structural design specifications
Generate truss-related quotes and design documentation
Review peer designs as part of a quality double-check process to reduce errors prior to manufacturing
Create shop paperwork optimized for manufacturing efficiency and batching based on equipment capabilities
Communicate technical design questions with internal teams and external architects or engineers as needed
Document design clarifications and communications using Excel and saved correspondence
Collaborate with senior designers and management when complex analysis is required
Manage workload efficiently to meet daily, weekly, and project-based productivity goals
Follow all safety procedures and participate in required safety meetings
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Hands-on experience using MiTek truss design software (Sapphire required)
Truss design experience for residential construction projects
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Solid math and measurement skills
Working knowledge of drafting, architectural design, or CAD-related concepts
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Preferred
5+ years of component or truss design experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Background working with roof, floor, and wall truss systems
Exposure to manufacturing or building components environments
