Senior Custom CAD Engineer – Flow Development

NVIDIA is seeking a highly motivated and talented CAD Engineer to join their Advanced Technologies group, focusing on mission-critical infrastructure for custom circuit macro validation and release. This role will develop and enhance flows to ensure the integrity and quality of custom circuit macros across all NVIDIA chips while collaborating with a diverse team of experts.

Responsibilities

Develop, support, and enhance internal flows used to run a sequence of checks on custom circuit macros, ensuring compliance with hierarchy, layout, and netlisting requirements
Validate that macro layouts adhere to all agreements required by place and route, and facilitate successful integration into chip-level designs
Develop and maintain ICV decks, SKILL code, Perl and Python scripts, and Thunder utilities to rigorously validate layouts and schematics
Develop the release process that is used for custom macros, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability
Collaborate with other CAD engineers, standard cell, RAM, and mixed-signal cell designers, place and route engineers, library infrastructure teams, and packaging designers to specify new checks and improve existing ones
Participate in the ongoing development and support of mission-critical infrastructure
Opportunity to contribute to other CAD projects outside the core responsibilities of this role

Required

B.S. (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or M.S. in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years' experience
Excellent programming skills, with proficiency in Perl, Python, and Cadence SKILL
Solid understanding of custom circuit design, layout, hierarchy, and netlisting
Experience with macro validation flows and release processes
Familiarity with ICV decks, Thunder utilities, and EDA tool integration
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for supporting end-users and working across multidisciplinary teams
Enthusiasm for contributing to mission-critical infrastructure and driving continuous improvement
Experience with version control system, like Perforce
Familiarity with LSF or similar job scheduling systems for distributed computing
