Marketing and Communications Manager
Emerald Necklace Conservancy is a private, non-profit stewardship organization dedicated to restoring and protecting the historic Emerald Necklace park system. They are seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to enhance public awareness and support for the Conservancy through strategic marketing, social media, and community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Manage social media content for several platforms (*Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, BlueSky, YouTube, LinkedIn*). With assistance from the Visitor Engagement Associate, plan, create, curate and engage in daily content and ensure consistent branding and messaging. Meet annual goals for growing usership and engagement across platforms
Develop strategies and campaigns to increase audiences and engagement on the Conservancy's social media channels. Liaise with senior staff and a communications consultant in the development and execution of these strategies
Advise and coach colleagues and volunteers on contributing meaningful and impactful content and amplifying existing content on social media channels
Integrate new media ideas and trends into traditional communications
Maintain, expand and promote the Conservancy's Mobile Tour Guide
Ensure the creation, curation and daily upkeep of content for the Conservancy website (business hours, calendar events, updating information, etc.) Work with the Visitor Engagement Associate to execute updates
Participate in plans for a graphic and organizational refresh of the Conservancy website
Develop meaningful digital dialog and relationships with supporters and friends
Working with the Visitor Center Associate, track and use social media analytics to help inform marketing strategies
Develop, plan, and execute a comprehensive multi-channel marketing and communications strategy annually that targets current and potential supporters. Work with staff and Board members as needed in the planning and execution
Prepare a monthly eNewsletter and as-needed email campaigns around events, fundraising and other programs
Oversee the design of compelling Conservancy collateral materials, including brochures, holiday card, program literature, promotional materials and signs, dedicated websites, etc. Secure and supervise outside vendors as needed
Create and distribute promotional materials, including event invitations, event flyers, posters, ads and multimedia presentations
Identify and leverage new marketing partnerships and visibility opportunities
Manage the creation of the Conservancy's Annual Report, including schedule, writing, design and printing. Contract and supervise outside vendors as needed
Oversee Digital Asset Management and research/implement improvements to storing the Conservancy's digital photo library
Prepare and update the internal monthly dashboard on year-to-date progress for Conservancy goals
Update ENC website - SEO, etc
Build and maintain relationships with reporters and social media influencers and respond to media inquiries, working with a communications consultant to pitch stories and articles to local reporters and publications
Working with a communications consultant, ensure the timely creation and launch of media materials, including press releases, media advisories and media kits. Participate in public relations strategy and execution as needed
Identify and leverage new media opportunities
Working with a communications consultant, ensure comprehensive monthly media coverage files, up-to-date media lists and image library
Compile media packets for monthly board meetings
Update the Conservancy website with press releases and media hits
Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Visitor Center Associate to design, implement and maintain a welcoming, inclusive and informative visitor experience
Recruit, hire and supervise the Visitor Center Associate and the Weekend Shattuck Visitor Center Assistant, assigning and assisting with tasks as necessary
Plan, coordinate, schedule and promote a seasonal slate of public and private tours working with the Conservancy Docents. Assist in the expansion of the public tour program and the recruitment of volunteer tour guides. Review and adjust curriculum and tour offerings to reflect entirety of the Emerald Necklace
Implement strategies and campaigns to increase public awareness and visitation of the Shattuck Visitor Center: keep displays updated and timely, create and help execute a schedule of casual public events like talks and ranger meet-and-greets with the support of the Public Events and Partnerships Coordinator, update engagement tools such as the Book of the Month, Visitor Map, etc
Oversee day-to-day upkeep of the Shattuck Visitor Center, ensuring the inventory of office supplies in concert with the Visitor Center Associate and communicating major maintenance needs to the Director of Operations
Assist in the planning, execution and promotion of live and virtual Conservancy events, including the Annual Meeting, summer programs, Emerald Evening, Party in the Park and other events
Provide marketing and communications insight for board committee meetings related to community outreach and visitor experience
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications or related field and/or several years of directly related experience
Minimum of 2 years of marketing or customer service experience in a professional setting required
Strong understanding of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn), digital marketing, and web analytics
Strong writing skills with attention to detail and to brand consistency
Ability to communicate with a variety of constituents in a professional and welcoming manner
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize projects
Self-starter with ability to work independently or as part of a team
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred
Experience with WordPress preferred
Graphic design skills; familiarity with Adobe Creative suite and Canva preferred
Video editing skills preferred
Knowledge of special events and media relations preferred
Experience working with designers, printers and other communications vendors preferred
