Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage general ledger, job costing, and project accounting
Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop and monitor budgets for individual projects and overall operations
Provide financial forecasts and cash flow analysis
Collaborate with project managers to align financial goals with construction timelines
Cost Control & Job Costing
Implement and maintain job cost tracking systems
Analyze variances between actual and estimated costs
Recommend cost-saving strategies and process improvements
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to tax laws, labor regulations, and contract requirements
Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors
Oversee insurance, bonding, and licensing documentation
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise accounting staff and oversee payroll, AP/AR, and billing
Work closely with executives, estimators, and project managers
Support ERP system implementation and upgrades
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in construction
Expertise in job costing, WIP schedules, and contract/insurance billing
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
