QA Supervisor 2nd Shift
LALA US, Inc is a manufacturer of yogurt products, providing a clean and automated production facility. They are seeking a QA Supervisor to oversee food safety and quality practices, manage quality assurance technicians, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Adheres to and enforces all safety policies, good laboratory practices (GLPs), good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Take immediate action to address, communicate, and prevent food safety and quality issues with a sense of urgency
Communicates effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with plant leadership and internal departments, including quality, maintenance, operations, procurement and scheduling, and on and off-site warehouses
Build collaborative partnerships and develop positive, solution-oriented relationships with management, operations, maintenance, and other support staff, to achieve organizational and team results
Directs teams and motivates personnel in achieving goals in alignment with company strategies. Assists the Quality Manager in providing team leadership, discipline, and collaborative working culture across all levels of the organization
Trains, assesses, and certifies the job skills of Quality Assurance Technicians. Ensures GLPs, GMPs, and SOPs are understood and followed
Manages the environmental monitoring program, including pathogen and non-pathogen sampling and testing of air, water, packaging, tools, equipment, and other environmental surfaces
Performs and documents calibrations of equipment used for food safety and quality testing, both in the lab and in other areas of the plant. Schedule, maintenance and calibrations by third parties as needed and in compliance with plant procedures and manufacturer recommendations
Reviews records and documentation in support of the SQF system, food safety plans, and food quality plans to assure they are accurate, complete, and correct. Documents may be generated by operations, quality, maintenance, or other departments
Manages the raw and packaging material and finished product hold process to assure suspect products are identified and isolated until investigations are complete and appropriate disposition is determined and completed
Participates in and contributes to incident investigations, structured problem solving, safety audits, GMP audits, and other such solution-oriented activities
Evaluate problems, facilitate and lead problem solving activities, document solution finding, and implement corrective actions. Ensure effectiveness and adherence to action plans
Coordinates and communicates with the State of Nebraska Department of Agriculture for all testing related to receiving milk products. May be trained and certified to back up milk receivers as a certified milk analyst for the State of Nebraska
Responsible for all quality checks and review of paperwork as it pertains to the Biennial Laboratory Evaluation by the State of Nebraska
In accordance with all regulatory and company policies, ensures established safety, product specification, SOPs, and food safety and quality parameters are met before finished products are released for shipment
Communicates and escalates support needs within the quality department and Omaha facility for problem resolution
Able to competently and accurately perform the duties and responsibilities of Quality Assurance Technicians in support of performing on-the-job training and meeting company objectives
Monitor and trend product evaluation from co-manufacturing facilities
Responsible for maintaining the SQF system
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5 years minimum of equivalent experience in an FDA regulated food facility in a quality/food safety position
Ability to learn and safely and accurately use laboratory equipment required
This position requires regular and prompt attendance during the working hours scheduled by the Department Manager
Must be able to use Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and Outlook required
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Minimum Education Required: 4 Year degree in a science related field or 5 years minimum of equivalent experience in an FDA regulated food facility in a quality/food safety position
Preferred
HACCP, PCQI and SQF certification strongly preferred
SAP experience preferred
Manufacturing experience a plus
