Construction Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities
Serve as the Engineer of Record for Mechanical and Plumbing disciplines
Provide leadership and oversight for the MEP design team throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion
Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Lead the design and development of HVAC and plumbing systems
Conduct and verify load calculations for HVAC and plumbing systems
Perform Construction Administration (CA) tasks, including reviewing submittals and shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and attending CA meetings
Conduct site visits to assess field installations and perform field observations
Manage assigned projects, coordinating and guiding the design team from inception to completion
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute detailed phases of assigned project work, ensuring adherence to quality standards across all projects
Lead design and construction meetings, ensuring effective communication and decision-making
Mentor junior team members and assign tasks to design staff as needed
Provide periodic, objective feedback during employee check-ins in support of Annual Performance Reviews
Prepare, monitor, and manage contracts, fee proposals, and contract negotiations
Collaborate with Business Development teams to build client relationships and support repeat business opportunities
Perform additional duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Current Professional Engineering License
10+ years of experience in MEP Design, specifically in the Municipal/Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial Office sectors
Preferred
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Current Professional Engineering License
At least 5 years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer
Ability to obtain Professional Licensure in Texas
10+ years of experience in MEP design, with expertise in Municipal/Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial Office sectors
7+ years of experience managing MEP design projects
3+ years of Project Management experience
3+ years of Supervisory experience leading an MEP design team
Valid Texas Driver's License
Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
