Responsibilities

Manage the daily Accounts Payable functions for the University, the Research Foundation, and the 49er Foundation including the planning, and development of activities, policies and procedures, administrative and fiscal coordination, to meet the ongoing needs and goals of the unit
Serve as a Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the campus CMS Finance team for all Accounts Payable activities. Have an in-depth knowledge of the Unit’s systems and processes in order to develop and implement improved process flows. Participate in planning and implementations of new software and systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business administration or related degree required
10 years of progressively responsible Accounts Payable experience including Travel and Entertainment
5 years prior management experience in a large complex organization
Experience working with ERP accounting systems including the Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and General Ledger modules
In depth knowledge of the accounts payable functions, related policies and procedures, and interpretation of rules and laws
Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating effectively with the campus community, CSU personnel, and outside vendors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively writing and communicating policies, operating procedures, performance appraisals, management reports, and other documents as necessary
Excellent management skills in order to plan department workflow, create efficiencies, motivate staff, and encourage good working relationships within the unit
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community
Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures
Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a 'vision of excellence.'

Preferred

Public Higher Education and Fund Accounting experience is preferred
